Brand Story

Starting with a cup of coffee, connecting the land, the farmers, and everyone who drinks it

Brand Spirit

Coffee, connection, curiosity, care, growth, and hope

Mercy Coffee Studio is not only about finding good coffee—it’s about getting to know the land, understanding people, and connecting cultures through coffee. We want every tasting to be a discovery, and every transaction a chance to begin a lasting relationship.

Mission

Our Mission

Through quality coffee, origin stories, and genuine human connection, we help coffee lovers in Taiwan better understand the land, culture, and producers behind their coffee—while building more meaningful relationships between origins and consumers, grounded in respect, transparency, mutual benefit, and long-term partnership.

Vision

Our Vision

Starting with Colombia, we aim to build a platform that connects coffee origins, producers, coffee lovers, and communities. In the future, we hope to carry this spirit to more origins—but Colombia will always be our First Voyage, the place where the story truly began.

Core Values

What We Stand For

Curiosity

Stay curious

Keep asking questions, and never pretend to already know the answers.

Integrity

Act with honesty

Respect the facts, the origins, our customers, and every partnership.

Connection

Build bridges

Let coffee become a bridge between people and between cultures.

Respect

Honor every partner

Farmers are not material for a story; they are partners with expertise, knowledge, and dignity.

Shared Growth

Growing Together

We pursue positive-sum relationships in which producers, partners, consumers, and the brand all benefit.

Hope

Keep hope alive

We believe small choices, good relationships, and long-term action can add up to real change.

Our Story

A story that began with photographs and friendship

The story of Mercy Coffee Studio begins in two places far apart on the world map: Taiwan and Colombia.

I first met a friend from Colombia on EyeEm, a photography platform where people who love photography, travel, and nature shared pictures of mountains, forests, cities, skies, and everyday moments worth remembering. Even though we lived in different countries, our photos and a shared love of nature slowly made us friends.

When EyeEm shut down, our friendship continued. Through the eyes of someone who actually lives in Colombia, I began to see Bogotá’s cityscape, natural surroundings, culture, and family life. Little by little, coffee became part of our conversations.

This friendship, which outlasted a platform and crossed great distance, became the starting point of Mercy Coffee Studio. There was no business plan first—there was a real connection, and from it grew a dream of connecting Taiwan and Colombia through coffee.

At first, I imagined just a few bags of coffee, some samples, a cupping session, and maybe a simple website. But our conversations slowly changed the questions I was asking. Instead of only asking which coffee tasted best, I began to ask: Where does this coffee come from? Who planted it? What is the story of this land? Can my choices make things better for all of us?

These questions helped Mercy Coffee Studio grow from simply sharing good coffee into a larger vision: to become a bridge between Taiwan and Colombia, helping people discover a faraway land through a cup of coffee, and making sure the expertise, hard work, and stories of producers are truly seen.

In the future, it may become a coffee brand, an exchange platform, or an origin-experience program—and perhaps even grow into coffee-tree adoption and regenerative agriculture partnerships. For now, what matters most is staying true to why we began: remain curious, keep learning, move forward honestly, and create lasting value in every encounter.

Never Forget Why You Began

A Note to Myself

If one day small parcels become shipping containers, one person’s notes become team meetings, and Mercy Coffee Studio grows far bigger than it is today, I hope I will still remember: it all began simply because I love coffee and wanted to share truly good Colombian coffee with my friends.

Growth should never require us to give up the values that made growth possible.

Curiosity will be our north. Integrity will be our anchor. Knowledge will be our wind. Relationships will become our crew.

Let every cup of coffee deserve to be understood. Let every origin deserve to be seen. Let every encounter have the potential to become a lasting connection.
